When I was in the 10th grade, my close friend George- Tommie George Bell, who was my age, was murdered by the police.

Today, June 1st, is his birthday. George, we are 40 this year.

It is not lost on me that we are fighting for another George and the continued oppression, disregard, and murder of black people by whites. I reject the insistence to participate in respectability politics. Care more about the people who are paid to PROTECT us MURDERING US than you do about the fuck ass buildings.
