Fontana di Trevi
A poem by Victoria Zammit
Crystal clear waters
mired by
specks of bronze
and gold
littering the floor.
One for luck
Two for love
Three for money
“Over the left shoulder
with your right hand
or the wish is useless.”
One for me
Two for you
Three for us
I close my eyes
and hope
that this
will keep us together.
One for us
Two for us
Three for us
Plop.
Plop.
Plop.
And I hope
for another day
in paradise.
