The Color of Goodbye
And just like that, my lifesuddenly seems likeit is not my own.Your almost-green eyesstared through me froma non-existent land,a dimension I don't havethe capabilities to reach. Can I verbalize the colorof your goodbyes? Is there a shadeto match my pain?Does a hue of anexplanation exist? You're the green thecolor of fading leaves,I'm the violet youcatch in the breeze--chilly, precise, unexpected.I will endlessly marvelat the way I calibrateinto a new mindwhen you are near.Like a distant voicefrom the radio, you sooth my soul. But now, I wake upcradled in a nightmare, riddled with repetitive, frightening moments, andthere is only static. In this reality, no matterwhat I am doing,I can't possibly thinkof anything else. ____________________________________________Photography: Lanaya@writing.for.the.calm
