The Art Project
A poem by Derrek Faraday
Always in your roomBringing other things to life.Don't bother to groom,The only thing you sculpt is your mind. You sound like a painter,But you look like a dreamer in bonds.Don't ever savour...You move too fast, your appetite is gone. You dance and chant about your colour,Please don't lie.You don't kiss Lady Soul much.So they ask the wrong question, "why?"Don't have much reasonTo show your lust to everyone else.Anything else is just treason. To whom you said you were to yourself. What's the paint in this? The walls still listen to what you've done. You've spat out a masterpieceWithout much need or push from the sun.You suffer, and no one told you to.Now, that's a great joke.I assure you your smile.Although you'll choke behind the lines in the smoke(I know)That you're feeling awful jaded,(That you don't know)That you're a star that's been sedated.(If you'll make it)Don't live your life in reenactment,(God knows you'll hate it.)If your life is not your statement,(When you can't stay true,)Adopt another point of view.(The sky will stay blue,)And you stay your ground.(Fall into a trance)Go ahead in satisfaction.(Give in to their hands.)Dance, fool, dance!(Give in to their hands.)Dance, fool, dance!(Give in to their hands.)Dance, fool, dance!(Give in to their hands.)Dance, fool, dance!
