Lego Life
a poem by RC deWinter
skin too tender for the battle of the everyday
i walk padded daydream corridors
justifying these visions as manifestations
of what surely is to come
my pragmatic mind always interferes
i bump into unseen fences
barbed wire stone splintered wood
and float bleeding back to what is
faith shouldn't be fragile but mine…
too often it's a fledgling kidnapped by
that great vulture doubt
never devoured only tortured
i twist in its claws as i soar above a reality
static unchangeable reduced to molded plastic
a toy village trapped in the design
of an unknown manufactory
