Autumn Leaves
a poem by Eric Campbell
The falling of autumn leaves
brings back memories
I wish I never knew.
Plenty different shades and hues
but none represented the blue I felt.
Instead the embers reminded me
of how my heart would glow
when my nose encountered
a scent I know so well.
I've come to be as hollow
as the parks in December
Mass attempts to no longer wallow
in the parts I remember.
