Went on Up to Harlem

A poem by T.K. Mills

Went on up to Harlem,

To talk with Langston Hughes

Things ain’t like they used to be,

So I thought I’d go give him the news

Times are kinda crazy

It seems all the people are confused

Not that they were perfect then

But let’s let some assumptions go excused

Things are better, things are worse

I learned from you that we smile as we choose

Life’s got tears, anger and laughs

So to help you through, best listen to some Jazz and Blues

Don't forget to check out the GUA Shop
