I walked behindmy heart,Covered up to the thighsin its rivers, freezing from the chillthat it became sincelife served it griefbeyond winters, only seeingthe calm of blood thatpassed the rest of mybody on the inside.we learned to flowtogether,to search for ourselvesOn the walls & floorsof my flesh, with no control as I gotcloser to feel its beats,as blood became myFeet I swamwithout ever learningbut knowing & feelinghow weak I could bein its strength.
