Vibed Out Open Mic Featured Artist: Eli $tones
Eli $tones is a 21-year-old rap/hip-hop recording artist from Milwaukee, WI. His venture into rapping began in high school. Inspired by a group of friends, Eli started making beats on Fl Studio using his parents’ desktop but his heart yearned for more with his music.
Eli started writing and recording his own tracks and dropped his debut project, “Elsewhere”, in 2016. Since then, he has continued to drop hit singles, increasing his music quality through studio production, and killing local shows, in turn, solidifying his position as a natural born rockstar. The fact that Eli doesn’t just draw inspiration from one specific source makes his music different.
His non-conformity to Milwaukee’s reputation for Detroit-esque, “trapstar” MC’s is the bonus that sets him from the rest. His music is a mix of lyrical rap/hip-hop and melody. While keeping his music within the range of sound that is popular today in rap, Eli also makes sure his listeners understand that he has something to get off his chest, which he hopes fans can relate to and draw inspiration from.
His musical journey is still at an early stage but Eli $tones is beginning to build a small name for himself within his city by continuing to drop hit singles and turning up shows all over his hometown.
