a poem by Matthew Berg

Once thought as burdens,

as limitations upon us,

when suddenly does a revelation present itself:

the thing about chains is the strength given us,

found as we discover understanding to live better and right.

Our souls made better,

made stronger in our dealings with these trappings.

These bindings becoming our empowering,

and in such constraints are new horizons open to us,

ones once hidden and barred from us,

and in the quest into such new territory are we made alive!

The thing about chains is in the perspective.

Physical limitations are possible,

though not always the outcome,

and in this new approach is a new way made,

made and undertaken.

All because the thing about chains.
