a poem by Samihah Pargas

I dream of your touch sometimes.
The warmest light is between us
and the softest colours are on your skin.
The quietest smile, on your face.
Your hand, rested upon my chin.
I know we are mere droplets in an ocean,
but here – this gift of God unto us all:
The power to love.
Oceans-wide. Oceans-deep.
Had I grinned a little louder,
the sky would’ve heard.
And the moon and her stars
would gather outside the window
wishing to join this world.
This place of ours alone.
This wonderful little moment of our own.
