"Maple Syrup" by Poet Amara Malik

Maple Syrup—

It's the tears of mother nature

Crying over the lost soul of humanity

As we destroy her children through fire and ash

And we'll reap the gold of her children's grave

And drink the sweet blood that pours from her veins

Until there's nothing left but dirt and rain

As the gods cry over their creation

And wonder if we were a mistake.
