“We All can be ICONoclasts.” - Marryam Moma

The ICONoclasts exhibition at the Aviation Community Cultural Center in ATL was brimming with stylish art enthusiasts, anticipating the unveiling of analog collage pieces. These captivating works, crafted by Marryam Moma in partnership with her creative director, Rodney LoveJones, showcased an array of iconic figures. Among the immortalized are Andre Leon Tally, Sojourner Truth, and James Baldwin.

To our delight, we had the opportunity to visit the studio of the artist herself and discuss her newest collection. We found ourselves chatting about developing a narrative amongst a collection of artworks, maintaining Black legacy fueled by family and sisterhood, and art in protest of environmental racism.
