TEMPTATION

a poem by T. Louise

She looked up at me—
eyes like black holes
causing
me
to
sink
too
deep
beneath reality
I had no words for her
no more words to spare
air closing in!
she made my breath quicken,
my heart race,
discoloration
in my face
She bared the
Kiss of Death
& Temptation
was her name.

Sucking me in,
her gravity immense,
“Suicide”,
she whispered
as my muscles grew tense
I couldn’t pretend
I couldn’t hear her anymore
I couldn’t escape obeying her voice!
Life and I,
never did
talk much.
I
never
did
make a good choice.
