Pinpricks
a poem by Sayali Parkar
I used to think, those
Stars are nothing but
Pinpricks, spread over
The entire night sky
How can they make
My wishes come true,
When they Can’t save
Themselves From falling
Then one night I
Happened to sit
Under the open sky,
Watching those pinpricks
I didn’t say anything;
But they seemed to
Understand everything
I didn’t ask for
Any attention, but they
Happened to give me
All
Though I didn’t speak,
Or didn’t hear anything
From them , it was
Two-way communication,
My soul and
those stars had
found some equilibrium
With each other
From that moment I
Realised, those stars
Are magical, and
Definitely not just pinpricks …
