Perspective
a poem by Michael DeMaranville
Passing by, they see
leafless twigs afloat
flower scales shed, dead
pine needles, infested
thick, green pond scum.
Breaking
from the group
her hands dip through
water twirling green
aquatic grass. Fingers
gently stretching. Their view
yellows and greens transformed
the grasses weave water nebulae
pale pink petals mixed like galaxies
bursting into existence.
