Museums

you know

how they have paintings

set up on the walls

in museums,

and the signs that they have

randomly scattered around that say

"do not touch"

let you get just close enough

to send pulses that itch

straight into your fingertips?

all of that beauty and mystique

left up to interpretation

it reminds me of you

I could stare all day

honey, you blind me

you must be a reflection of the sun

erratic with your movement

like yellow jackets during supple summers

the seasons pass

rain will fall

but I will rise

oh yes I will rise

like Christ on the day of resurrection

 a taste of heaven

drops on my tongue

sugar so sweet

like cotton candy kisses

stuck on the top of my teeth

drilling holes and wells so deep

I drown in tomorrows

I float atop of yesterday

as if it were yesterday

I've been waiting to see you again

so that I can stare

and admire the art

that was molded by god's hands

you know

how they have paintings

set up on the walls

in museums,

and the signs that they have

randomly scattered around that say

"do not touch"

let you get just close enough

to send pulses that itch

straight into your fingertips?

it's about time

that I ran past security

and blessed these hands

don't you think?
