Foresight

Maybe if the universe gave me a chanceor time did, to keep my wheel of life runningmy heart would still pray, to time againto keep the one I love, to hold my handby my side, till time does its duty.I would watch, leaning on his shouldersgenerations of the future, spinning galaxiesand turning time around their wrists, runningalong the path, that unfolds like a carpetopening portals to newer, stranger things.I would curate the memories made, and recoverthe ones lost, at times and tides tempestuousmake plaques and statues out of them, andfinally, a temple in which my children would comeand make themselves owners, to these memories, lost.I would forever, keep doing this, till I'm tiredtill my heart is tired, till my soul stretches outto the golden thread of salvation, weavinga fabric of age and the final time, shroudedover what will be left of me, a feeble human bodytill I'm contented with what I've become, andslowly disappear like a mirage, fade away, forthe future child to spin my stories someday.(from 'MUSINGS OF A SPEARHEAD'- to be published)
