Desert Disease by Angelina Valdez
I have tumbleweeds stuck to my lips.Do you taste them? They scrape and scratch my skin withevery new name. I have sand in my eyes.Do you feel it?It grinds and picks at my retinas withevery new oasis. There are coyotes attached to my coat tail.Do you smell them? They bite and kick my legswith every departure.Ecosystems travel with me.Stick to me.Sitting in my pores.Crawling through my hair.Hiding under my tongue.
