Once Bitten, Twice Shy
It is said,Once bitten, twice shyAnd I couldn't agree more with this,More than anythingI wanted to pull the curtain, andAllow the light to enter,I wanted to be the oneTo make a difference in your life,The one that could be life-changingBut, not in the wayThings worked out,Leaving me to a predicamentThat would burn like a wildfire,So, every time I have the urgeTo be the saving grace againMy hand tingles from the burnThat it suffered ever so long ago,Placing a hesitant hip in every step I take.
